Kazuhide Takahama (1930-2010), a Japanese architect trained in Tokyo, met Dino Gavina in 1957 at the Milan Triennale, where he oversaw the Japanese pavilion, and settled in Bologna in 1963. He became one of the most active designers at Simon, Gavina's company, for which he designed the Tulu chair and the Jano and Rennie armchairs, among others. According to dealers, the Saghi dates from around 1972.

A low, almost reclining armchair: a seat that dips gently and a curved backrest, like two sails stretched over a sled-shaped frame of chromed steel rod. The whole seems to float above the floor. Both armchairs have been completely redone by an upholsterer in a very beautiful brown velvet that lets the chrome shine.

Very good condition: clean velvet, chromed structure in good shape. First-hand pieces, they come from the collection of a Milanese enthusiast, following an inheritance.

Each armchair measures 74 cm long, 62 cm wide and 67 cm high. As a pair, facing a sofa or on either side of a coffee table, they command attention through their lightness.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0584/5077/2174/files/photo_01_11b4b8f1-6a35-4417-8188-522888aec632.jpg?v=1794042119
