Italy, 1950s. This large table box stands out for its generous, very practical size and for the graphic rigour of its metal lid, cut into facets around a central diamond.
The metal, patinated in places, bears the marks of time that give it all its charm. Each facet of the design holds an inset of brown velvet, which warms the whole and contrasts with the shine of the metal. On opening, the wooden interior is divided into five compartments of different sizes, to store jewellery, cards, watches or small desk objects.
Very good state of preservation. The interior has never been used and looks new. A rare box, of very fine craftsmanship.
At 31 cm long, 21 cm wide and 4.5 cm high, it sits on a chest of drawers, a desk or a coffee table, closed as a decorative object.
