1960s Italy produced a series of office objects that were as much sculpture as they were functional accessories. This valet tray is a good example: a square base with rounded corners made of honey-colored burr wood, reinforced at the four corners by dark metal inserts, and a central circular cup of flush-mounted patinated brass. Inside the bowl, a brass divider bar and a cork ball — a common element in Italian design of this period, perfectly preserved here.

The brass has developed a beautiful golden-olive patina that contrasts with the flamed grain of the wood. No designer or manufacturer could be confirmed with certainty — the piece is offered as an anonymous Italian design object from the 1960s.

Very good overall condition: wood without noticeable scratches, uniformly patinated brass, intact cork.

Dimensions: 18 × 18 × 3.5 cm.

To be placed on a desk, console, or bedside table. Works alone or in composition with other objects from the same period.
