In the 1990s, the Danish duo Friis & Moltke developed a line of seating for Randers Møbelfabrik that fully embraced the Scandinavian modernist heritage: chromed tubular structure, contained volumes, and attention to the quality of materials.
These armchairs combine a black leather shell with a round-section chrome-plated steel tube frame. The design is clean: an enveloping seat, armrests integrated into the shell, and a cylindrical headrest set back on the backrest. The tension of the leather on the shell and the detail of the rolled headrest testify to an uncommon level of execution for mass production.
The overall condition is good. The leather shows a homogeneous patina with some signs of use consistent with age — intact grain, no tears or sagging. The chrome is clean.
Dimensions per armchair: height 79 cm, width 63 cm, depth 63 cm.
To be placed as a pair in a living room, office, or reception area. Also works well individually.
