Martin Visser designed the BZ09 as part of his research into lightweight tubular seating for Spectrum in the 1960s. The chrome-plated steel tube frame, on four slender legs, carries a seat and back made of wide overlapping, studded leather straps, set with open gaps on the back — a supple suspension principle that replaces any foam or traditional webbing. Buttoned, tufted cushions add comfort to this open structure.

Original leather, found in Amsterdam: the patina is beautiful and even, with no marked wear or deep cracking, in near-new condition. The chrome is clean, with no pitting.
