France. Muguette Rivillon, a ceramist born in 1932 or 1933 and who passed away in 2024, turned to ceramics after reading the writings of Brother Daniel de Montmollin on ash and high-temperature glazes. Her pieces almost always bear her "MR" monogram.

This small "Noisette" stoneware vase has a flattened ball shape with a pronounced shoulder, topped by a narrow neck ending in a flared lip. The glaze, an ultramarine blue flecked with lavender white, runs in irregular drips down the body, with denser areas around the shoulder: each firing draws a unique pattern. The underside, left raw, shows the sandy stoneware body and the hand-drawn "MR" monogram.

Condition: a few fine superficial crazing lines in the glaze on the shoulder and small dark firing specks, with no visible chip. A handmade piece that keeps its small irregularities.

Placed alone on a shelf, mantel or bedside table, it holds a single flower, a branch or a few grasses.

Material: Glazed stoneware
Colour: Ultramarine blue flecked with lavender white

Dimensions:

Condition: Good vintage condition: fine superficial crazing of the glaze on the shoulder, small dark firing specks; no visible chip; MR monogram underneath
