In the 1970s, Molteni developed a line of dining tables based on rigorous construction and careful work in solid wood. This extending model illustrates the balance between formal restraint and precise execution characteristic of high-end Italian production of the period.
Solid walnut structure. Four grooved legs with a central channel that visually lightens the section without reducing its strength. Two-part top opening on a metal slide mechanism to double the surface. Precise, smooth extension system, in very good working order.
Very good overall condition. Clean wood with an even, warm patina. Light surface marks consistent with age. No chips or warping.
Closed: height 74 cm, width 93 cm. Open: length 186 cm, width 93 cm.
Compact for everyday use, generous when open. Seats 4 to 8 depending on configuration.
