In the 1970s Netherlands, the Space Age movement freed furniture from its traditional straight lines. Rounded shapes, contrasting materials, airy structures: this coffee table is a typical illustration, unsigned but representative of Dutch production from that period.
Tripod base in solid wenge, white lacquered band, round smoked glass top. The contrast between the dark wood, light lacquer, and tinted glass creates a strong graphic statement, designed to fit into 1970s interiors.
The piece is in good overall condition. The white lacquer on the band shows a slight patina, consistent with its age and not significant. The three wenge legs are in very good condition, individually waxed. The smoked glass top is also in good condition.
Dimensions: 90 cm diameter, 41 cm height.
A graphic and balanced piece, to be placed in the center of a living room in a confident vintage or contemporary interior.
