Italy, 1960s. Opaque glass, worked in satin-finished bands and heightened with gilding, carries the Art Deco spirit into Italian glassware, between sobriety and sparkle. This vase is an elegant, luminous version of it.

The body, in satin-finished amber-pink glass, narrows toward a flared foot and is adorned with four raised rings, finely underlined in gold, that pace the silhouette like the nodes of a bamboo stem. The neck is edged with a gilt line, the foot with a broad polished ring. The contrast between the soft frosted glass and the shine of the gilding makes the whole piece.

Beautiful patina of time: the gilding shows light wear and small lighter areas in places, consistent with the vase's age, with no chips or cracks. The glass is intact.

At 20.5 cm high by 13.5 cm in diameter, this vase sits on a console, mantel or sideboard, filled with a few stems or left bare as an object of light. A decorative, refined piece with a lovely retro elegance.
