Tuscany, 1970s. Arnolfo di Cambio, the crystal maker of Colle di Val d'Elsa, entrusted designer Fabio Frontini with the "Azteca" collection, in which solid crystal is worked like cut stone. This large ashtray is one of its most sculptural pieces.

The very thick clear crystal disc has a side ribbed with fine vertical flutes evoking ice or rock, while the smoother bowl is hollowed with fine concentric circles. Two cigarette notches, modelled in the mass like fluid flows, break the roundness of the circle and give it an almost organic movement.

Good used condition: the crystal is clear, with no chips or cracks, with light surface marks and a few signs of use on the rim and in the bowl, consistent with the age of the piece.

At 20 cm in diameter and 5 cm high, this generously sized ashtray sits on a coffee table, a desk or a console, as an ashtray or a catchall tray. A sober, powerful block of crystal from a renowned Italian house.

Material: solid crystal
Colour: clear (clear crystal)

- Height: 5 cm
- Width: 20 cm
