In 1955, Poul Kjærholm designed the PK22, an iconic armchair of Danish minimalism: a flat steel structure, stripped to the extreme, supporting a suspended seat in stretched leather. Produced from 1956 by E. Kold Christensen, the model became a benchmark in post-war Scandinavian design, praised for the purity of its lines and the precision of its execution.

Pair of PK22 armchairs by Poul Kjærholm for E. Kold Christensen, circa 1960. Polished steel frame, cognac leather seat and backrest, stretched and fastened by laced leather straps at the back. Square "double-K" punch and "Denmark" engraving under the seat, characteristic of early Kold Christensen productions.

Cognac leather in good condition for its age, supple and nourished, with some superficial scratches from use. Steel in very good condition, beautiful homogeneous patina.

A rare pair in this cognac shade and joint configuration, suitable for a demanding interior or a Scandinavian design collection.
