Italy, 1980s. Murano carried on its blown-glass tradition through pared-back forms and smoky tones, far from the expected bright colours. This large vase is an elegant illustration.
The body, in smoky grey blown glass with a gradient effect, unfolds in a long cylinder, pinched at its centre by a spherical knot that breaks the vertical line. The tint, deeper at the base, lightens towards the neck in a subtle play of density.
Good overall condition: the glass is intact, with no cracks or chips, and the gradient is even and well preserved.
At 45 cm high and 11.5 cm wide, this large vase makes its presence felt on the floor or on a low console. A sculptural piece, between minimalism and Italian glass virtuosity.
