Italy, circa 1969. The "AM/AS" floor lamp was born from the collaboration of Franco Albini, a figure of Milanese rationalism (1905-1977), Franca Helg, his studio partner, and Antonio Piva, for the publisher Sirrah. The series also comes as a table lamp and a pendant.

The design comes down to three gestures: a circular chromed metal base, a polished tubular stem, and a wide hemispherical bowl in white opaline glass, open at the top. The light passes through the opaline and rises towards the ceiling, soft and warm. The head connects to the body through a lovely magnet mechanism, of great elegance, and the switch sits on the floor, on the white cord.

A collector's piece, heavy and of fine build quality. Good overall condition for its age: new bulb, electrics checked.

At 156 cm high and 40 cm in diameter, it sits beside a sofa, an armchair or a reading corner, and dresses a room with a high ceiling.

Colour: White and chrome

- Height: 156 cm
