In 1970s Italy, lighting design explored simple, legible forms, often centred on the diffusion of light. The P428 belongs to this approach, with a composition reduced to the essentials.
"P428" floor lamp designed by Pia Guidetti Crippa for Luci Italia, circa 1970. Chrome-plated metal structure, lacquered base and spherical opaline glass diffuser. The whole rests on a slender stem that balances the presence of the globe. Quality industrial manufacture, characteristic of Italian production of the period.
Wear consistent with age. Light marks and micro-scratches on the metal parts. Glass in good condition, with no notable chips. In working order.
Dimensions: height 145 cm, width 40 cm.
A sober lighting piece, suited to a living room or reading corner, giving a soft, even light.
