Introduced in the late 1960s, the Saffo marks one of the key moments in the collaboration between Angelo Mangiarotti and Artemide . It encapsulates the essence of his approach: a refined form, discreet technology, and a rare mastery of blown glass.

Designed by Mangiarotti and produced by Artemide, this lamp combines a blown opaline glass diffuser with a brushed metal base. The interplay of transparency, with a clear upper section revealing the light source, demonstrates the meticulous attention paid to the transitions between materials. The piece comes from a private collection in Parma .

The condition is very good. The glass has a smooth surface, without cracks or chips. The metal base shows a light patina, consistent with a 1960s production.

The lamp measures 33 cm in height and 21 cm in width , a balanced size that allows it to work both alone and in a lighting scheme.

Ideal on a desk, console or side table, the Saffo fits naturally into a contemporary interior or a collection dedicated to 20th century Italian design.
