Introduced in the early 1950s, the DAX model marked the evolution of Eames shells towards continuous seating with armrests, designed for daily use and rational production. Examples from the 1970s retained these requirements.

Pair of DAX armchairs, designed by Charles & Ray Eames, manufactured by Herman Miller, circa 1970. Molded fiberglass shells, ivory finish, resting on a four-legged tubular chrome steel base. Assembly with visible fasteners, consistent with production of the period.

The shells show a beautiful patina, with micro-scratches and consistent surface nuances. Sound structure. Bases in good condition, stable chrome with slight signs of use. Homogeneous set.

Suitable around a table or as an accent piece. Clear statement in a modernist interior.
