In the 1970s, Italian tableware design explored transparency and plays of reflection, combining glass, plexiglass, and gilded metal in light compositions with a strong graphic presence. This rectangular tray is a well-constructed example: a mirrored glass base framed by two striated plexiglass rods, held at the four corners by spherical brass connectors. The whole rests on four small rubber feet.
The assembly is precise, the finish meticulous. The striated plexiglass catches the light differently depending on the angle, accentuating the visual lightness of the piece. Designer and editor unidentified — Italian production characteristic of this period.
Overall condition very good for its age. Some slight surface scratches on the mirror, consistent with use and only visible in glancing light. Brass intact, plexiglass without cracks.
Dimensions: height 4 cm, width 20 cm, length 28 cm.
