France, 1970s. François Monnet designed for the Kappa editions a group of pieces in steel and glass, including coffee tables, armchairs and seats, which today count among the witnesses of French metal design of the decade.

This coffee table is made in a single gesture: a sheet of brushed steel, folded into a U with rounded corners, forms both the sides and the base. At the top of each end, a folded return draws a rail on which a bronze smoked glass top rests, with no visible fixing. The brushed metal and the tinted glass answer each other in reflections, and the space left under the top serves as a niche for books and magazines.

Beautiful state of preservation: the top is in good overall condition, without heavy scratches, and the brushed steel shows only slight signs of use. A piece found in the south of France.

At 110 cm long, 56 cm wide and 23 cm high, it is easy to place anywhere: in front of a low sofa, at the centre of a living room or against a window.
