In 1970s Italy, Space Age design explored simple lines and tubular structures inspired by modernist architecture. This coffee table is a beautiful illustration of this, with a minimalist and light construction.
Italian production from the 1970s. Unidentified designer. Chromed tubular steel frame, assembled by bending, with a rectangular clear glass top. The low proportions and the use of polished metal recall the modernist research of the time between domestic and architectural furniture.
The original top was replaced in the early 2000s with safety glass, in order to meet more recent standards and ensure more reliable daily use. The whole is in very good vintage condition. The chrome shows a slight, homogeneous and discreet patina of use. The glass is well preserved, with a few superficial marks only visible in the light.
Dimensions: height 43 cm, width 44 cm, length 104 cm.
A piece that is easy to integrate into a contemporary interior, alongside 1970s Italian furniture or more radical pieces of European modernism.
