In the 1970s, the Space Age movement shaped Dutch and Belgian design: round forms, clean lines, new materials such as plexiglass and smoked glass. This coffee table belongs directly to that aesthetic.
Dutch coffee table, circa 1970. Designer and manufacturer unidentified. Smoked glass top resting on a white lacquered ring base, itself carried by a clear plexiglass cylindrical foot. A layered construction characteristic of the Space Age vocabulary.
Good overall condition. The top shows no notable defects. The white lacquer has a light patina, consistent with the age of the piece. The plexiglass is in good condition. An unusual piece, quite rare in this condition.
Dimensions: width 100 cm, height 34 cm.
A piece for a living room with clean-lined furniture, where its transparency and circular shape create a graphic focal point without weighing down the space.
