In the 1980s, Murano maintained its production of handcrafted decorative glass objects, playing on translucency and mass-colored effects. Tinted opalescent glass — obtained by adding pigments and opalescent agents to the material — produced the characteristic veiled and deep effects of the period.
Rectangular bowl with free wavy edges, made of intense blue opalescent Murano glass, circa 1980. The material features milky white marbling suspended in the blue, varying with the angle of light. Rests on a compact square base, integrated into the mass. Blown-pressed form, unregularized edges, each piece slightly unique. Designer and manufacturer unidentified.
Overall condition very good. No visible chips or cracks. Homogeneous frosted surface, without noticeable scratches.
Dimensions: width 19 cm, height 7 cm.
To be used as a catch-all, decorative bowl or centerpiece. Works alone or in composition with other glass objects.
