In 1960s Italy, several ceramic manufacturers explored crackle glazes inspired by oriental techniques, combined with gilded finishes for the modernist interiors of the time.
This Italian ceramic catchall has a celadon green glazed circular base and a removable lid with free contours, enhanced with a crackled decoration highlighted with gold leaf. A handmade piece from the 1960s, probably produced in small series. The piece combines turned ceramic and multi-fired glazed decoration.
Good vintage condition. Slight signs of age and discreet wear to the gilding, consistent with its age and contributing to its character. Dimensions: 15 cm wide by 4.5 cm high.
Can be used as a catchall, decorative box, or simply displayed on a console or coffee table.
